Charting the AI Frontier: Strategic, Ethical and Human-Centered AI for Arts Marketing

AI is changing the way we work, and arts organizations can’t afford to be left behind. In this session, we’ll cut through the noise to explain what generative AI actually is, why it matters and how arts marketers can use it today. You’ll learn practical AI-driven solutions tailored for the arts—from making your web copy more accessible to testing how AI perceives your brand. We’ll also address ethical considerations many organizations face when adopting AI. Whether you’re AI-curious or ready to dive in, this session will help you find a path forward that’s smart, ethical, and right for your organization.

4–4:30pm: Enjoy drinks and light bites while mingling with industry peers

4:30–5:30pm: Nerd out with a special presentation on generative AI by CI

5:30–6pm: Debrief and network before heading home for the evening

Christopher has been marketing the arts for more than 30 years. He was last in-house at New York City Center where he served as Director of Marketing. In 2013, he teamed up with founder Erik Gensler to establish CI, which has become one of North America’s premier consultancies serving the arts.

Sam has built a 15 year career in the arts and culture sector, starting with her time as the Off-Broadway Company Manager for Manhattan Theatre Club. Since joining Capacity Interactive ten years ago, she has been passionate about empowering arts organizations to harness digital tools for audience engagement and growth. As Senior Director of Consulting Partnerships, Sam leads teams in developing innovative strategies that drive results to support the missions of CI’s incredible clients. Sam currently serves on the board of directors for WP Theater in New York.
